FOOD WARS Ep1 Gotcha Pork

I've dedicated my blog to making all the dishes in Shokugeki no Soma!Recipe Below, so Come cook with me :)

Gotcha Pork in Wine Sauce
Gotcha Pork
1/2 c Mushrooms
1/2 c Onions
1 Potato
1 lb Bacon
1 sprig of fresh rosemary
7 Pieces of string

Wine Sauce
1/2 c Red (Melbec)
1/4 c Mirin (Sweet Sake)
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
2 tbsp Butter

Preheat Oven to 350
• Slice Potato into large chunks, halves and quarters.
• Place in steamer, on medium high for 20 mins.
• Chop Mushrooms and onions. Put to the side.
• When potatoes are soft to a fork's touch, remove from heat and rinse with a little cold water to cool them down.
• Add potatoes to Mushroom and Onion Bowl.
• Mix and mash until malleable.
• Lie out bacon strips in a row. Over lapping as you are preparing to wrap the potato mixture. About 7 pieces depending on how big you want your loaf.
• Scoop out potato mixture and form an oblong ball a little smaller than the bacon surface area.
• Place mix on top of bacon, off center to the left.
DO NOT PLACE THE MIXTURE IN THE CENTER. (you'll hate yourself later...)
• lay 3/4 pieces of bacon perpendicular to your previous pieces, overlapping as you go.
• Take the extra bacon on the right and fold it over to the left.. Tuck bacon under.
• Add rosemary in the bacon layers.
• Use string to tie it down tight..
• Place in oven for 45 mins, or until bacon is at your desired crispy/softness.

Wine Sauce
• Bring Wine, Mirin, and Soy Sauce to a boil.
• Turn down to medium hi and simmer for 3/5 mins.
• Turn off hot plate.
• Add butter. Let melt.

Bring out the meat and pour the wine sauce over the delicious meat.

MEAT JUCIES.
